Chasing Light

Chasing Light

I have always wanted to take some pictures capturing the amazing light of sunset!  I think today we did it!

I am so happy with the shoot. I hope you like it, too. The light is so warm and makes my newly dyed hair look so shiny. It is probably the last weekend of summer, so I took the opportunity to wear my favourite summer dress! I am in love with the cropped detail and the tutu-like skirt.

What are you doing this weekend?

Orange Craze

Orange Craze

Today's make up is all about complimenting my orange lips!

I think orange is one of the best colours to brighten up the look. It goes very well with green, grey, and purple. Orange and green combination really pops out, but I am not that bold so I choose an grey-ish purple eye shadow to go with my orange lipstick and orange nail polish. According to my interior designer friend, Jenna, orange and gray are very in right now! I trust her!

What do you think? Will you try Orange lipsticks yourself too?

Wen xx

To achieve this look I use:

1. Maybelline Coloursensational Electronic Orange (912)

2. Bourjois 3D Gloss Corail Artistic (53)

3. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (20)

4. Chanel Illusion D'Omere (83)

5. Chanel Creme Blusher (65)

6. Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow (20)

7. MUA Love Heart Nail Polish (sorry I put this on last night, so totally forgot about it when I took the photo!)

The Sale Must Go On!

The Sale Must Go On!

Summer might be coming to an end. The last Summer bank holiday was officially over. But don't be too upset. Look what I found! Feelunique.com is on sale!!!

This is my first time shopping on Feelunique. But I have heard many good things about this beauty shopping website. It has some really good brands, and seems to have very good prices as well, best of all, it is free shipping worldwide! (Hey, all my girl friends in Taiwan, you hear me? Free Shipping! Yay!)

I came across and found that they are having a summer sale right now. I picked up a few things. Some of the items I have been using and want to stock up. Some, I just can't wait to try them!

What about you? Have you bought any of these before? Or anything else that I must try?

Wen xx

1. Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream

I have never used this product before, but I heard a great deal of how good and super hydrating this cream was. I have combination and very sensitive skin. During the winter I tend to have very dry patches around the chin area. Hope this cream is as magical as people say and can fix my dry skin problem. Bye-bye the dry skin!

2. Murad Revitalising Dua
Oh! I Love Murad! I highly recommend this skin care product! Not only is it such a bargain (after discount, you save nearly 50 pounds!), the Essential-C Day Moisture is probably one of the best day lotions I have ever used. It has a very refreshing lemony smell and it is SPF 30!! One lotion, double duty. What can be better than that?

I am using the Day lotion for about two weeks now. I know it is very expensive but instead of buying two, lotion and sun screen. Why not just combine the money and get one good product. I decided to go for it and I have to say I am still very impressed with it.

3. Tangle Teezer

Everyone has one of these! Five year old little girl or Forty-five year old lady.. everyone is using it.. Since it is on sale, I am getting one for myself too. And look at the pink and blue design. How Cute!

4. Phyto 9 Creme de jour

I recently dyed my hair (for the first time, really excited and a little worried the dye will make my hair even dryer) so I want to stock up some leave-in hair conditioner. This is the best hair cream I have tried so far. I am using Phyto7 right now. I don't really know what the number stands for, but I am guessing 9 is better than 7!

5. Dior 5 COULEURS Eyeshadow

I am dying to try Dior's eyeshadow. I have heard so many good things about it. I chose the palette incognito. Very pretty on the photo. Let's hope they will look as pretty on my eyes too!

My Passion: Ballet, Cinema, The Red Shoes

My Passion: Ballet, Cinema, The Red Shoes

This series of photo shoot is inspired by one of my all time favourite films The Red Shoes. This film is based on the fairy tale written by H.C. Anderson about a girl who falls in love with a pair of red shoes and has to have them. Finally she gets these magic shoes. She puts them on and starts dancing. Dancing and dancing and the red shoes don't allow her to stop...until she bursts with joy...

It is a beautiful film and I love it so much. If you have never seen it. Here is the trailor for The Red Shoes...

Enjoy!

Brilliant Blue

Brilliant Blue
Today I am feeling a little bit playful and wanted to try something different for the make-up.
I decided to brighten my eyes with a brilliant blue. I started using a black gel eye liner to draw a flick and on top of it, I wet an angle brush to put the bright blue (the one with a star) eye shadow on.

Oh, and the palette I am using is from Sleek. It was a birthday gift from my bestie Tanya. (Miss you!! My girl!)

I love it!

Red Lips Give You Power!

Red Lips Give You Power

I have always loved red lipsticks but not until recently I really have the nerve to wear it.

As you know I bought two Revlon red lipsticks a couple days ago, coupled with my 'special-occasion' Chanel Rouge Allure. I cannot wait to try them out. I know they are very different reds but I am still curious how different they will look on me. So here we go...

Wen xx

1. Revlon Super Lustrous Creme Fire and Ice (720)

This is a classic red. Not too warm not too cool. It is just about right. For some reason, I think it makes me look paler and cooler, which I love.

2. Chanel Rouge Allure Coromandel (98)

My favourite red lipstick so far! It has an orange undertone. I tried MAC Lady Danger which is also a great orangy red. I have to confess Lady Danger is so matte that I don't think I can pull it off. The Chanel one has a little shine and I think it is great for my Asian skin tone. It brightens the complexion immediately. Looks great for the evenings, and if you are bold enough (unlike me), it will be a fantastic colour for the day look as well.

3. Revlon Super Lustrous Shine Rich Girl Red (830)

Once I put it on, I know this will be my go-to lipstick for a while! It is so sheer and cute. It still has a red lipstick bold effect but less intense. I feel very comfortable wearing it and it looks so fun too!

Can't Decide? Take Both!

Can't Decide? Take Both!

We all have this experience of wanting to get something and ending up buying something entirely different. I wanted to get some brown eye shadow for the everyday make-up look. I did find what I wanted Revlon Colorstay Decadent (505). It has such a beautiful pale pink and a warm tone of chocolate brown. But I can't say no to Addictive (500), either. It has such a nice minky gray and a cool tone of brown. I find they are both great for everyday look. And if you wear Addictive with a cat's eye liner, it will be perfect for the evening, as well.

Revlon's lipsticks are on offer. Of course I am going to grab some. I set my eyes on the classic red Fire & Ice (720) but I just couldn't be apart from the sheer and shine Rich Girl Red (830). So...

Chanel's cream blush is a surprise. I had no trouble at all choosing the colour. Affinite (65) is such a beautiful bright pink. Once I tried it on I knew I wanted it!

Dress from Nottinghill portobello market, belt (Topshop), heels (new look)

In front and behind the camera

I am a self-confessed selfie freak! I don't know what has got into me. Ever since I had my first digital camera (in 2003), I never stopped taking photos of myself.

I love taking photos of other people as well. But I have to admit, taking pictures of myself is very satisfying. Thanks to the digital technology, I don't need to show any of my bad pictures to any strangers in the photo shop!

Just to warn you, it is highly addicted. Try it with caution! :)

Oversize my Dress

Oversize Dress

How long has it been since you wore oversize clothes?

I remember when I was younger, I Love oversize everything... oversize t-shirt, oversize jeans, even oversize boots! My mum always tells me to buy something actually fits me. Over the years, I realise I have moved away from my boy-ish obsession of oversize and gradually filled up my wardrobe with tight little dresses and skinny jeans.

Until I saw this dress in the shop. I purposely got one that was two sizes bigger for me, and I loved it. I love it because it is not tight against my body and I feel so free.

Next time, when you go dress shopping, why not try a dress that is one or two sizes bigger and see how you feel about it!

My Stress Baking Diary #01 Madeleines

I woke up way too late this morning and felt very stressed. The best way for me to keep myself calm and carry on is to Bake!

I didn't even bother to change my pj and I went straight into my kitchen. I wanted to make some madeleines cakes (recipe is here!) but I don't have any lemons. So I get creative :) Instead of lemon, I put a drop of vanilla extract and a generous dollop of Nutella (Oh,my favourite thing in the world) and sprinkle lots and lots of almond flakes on the top.

Voila! Here is my chocolatey twist French cake (instagram)!
