Food & Drink// Jardine Cafe and Bistro

Last Sunday P and I went to a very nice restaurant, Jardine to have a little lunch date.

I have heard that Jardine is a very good place and it truly deserves its reputation.
We had a wonderful time there, and the food was superb!

Jardine is situated in Winvenhoe, an idyllic town next to the University of Essex. Perhaps because of its location, Jardine always gives me a literary sense of feeling. Many cultural events and reading and poetry clubs are held in this restaurant.

P had a beef burger and I ordered a pan fried skate (that was on today's special menu). We were both very pleased with our food. P loves his burger so when he says the burger is good, it is really really good. I am not really a seafood person but the skate was so tender. I really enjoyed it.

The staff was very friendly, the restaurant was very cozy. I especially loved the big mirror next to our table. It brightened the whole place up! It had a cute outdoor sitting area as well.

We will definitely come back again and bring all our friends here! If you are in the neighborhood, don't forget to drop by!

Please don't forget to comment and share!

My Hair Care Routine: Some Do's and Don'ts

My Hair Care Routine: Some Do's and Don'ts

I have been battling with the hair for as long as I can remember.. A bad fringe day is worse than a bad hair day. How to style my hair is another thorny question.. Not to mention which hair cut suits me the best..

After years of struggling, I seem to have finally found my way to deal with the hair problem and maintained a relatively healthy looking hair. Here are some of my at-the-moment favourite hair products I would like to share with you and some Dos and Donts of how I care for my hair.

Don't wash your hair everyday! I wash my hair every other day, and always use hair conditioner or hair mask. I recently bought L'oreal EverPure Colour Hair and Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner (1&2). I find that they are very good quality of shampoo and conditioner, so the next day I went back to get the EverRiche Hair Mask (3), too. The hair mask is wonderful. It leaves hair all silky and smooth. I must mention how much I love EverPure's smell. If you are also a fan of rosemary, you will LOVE this hair product. It makes me want to sing when I shampoo my hair! :)

Don't blow dry your hair too often! It's been nearly a year I try not to blow dry my hair and I can see a significant difference. My hair is so much healthier now! After towel drying, I use the Tangle Teezer (4) to brush through the damp hair and apply leave-in conditioner.

Do conditioning your hair! I love to use leave-in conditioners. My motto 'less is more' does not apply when I take care of my hair. Hair cream, serum, and oil, I use them all! (I have very dry and damaged hair. You perhaps don't need to use all of them, and only need a small amount.)

My favourite hair cream is Phyto7 (5). I usually mix it with a drop or two Bodyshop grapeseed serum (6). I apply this cream/serum combo directly onto my hair and brush it through with my fingers. Really working and rubbing in the product onto the hair. Sometimes I will also use a little bit (2-3 drops) of John Freida Oil Elixir (7) to run through the tips of my hair. As you can see, it is a very rich hair care I am using, so I only do it after I wash my hair. I don't do this everyday.

If I don't have enough time and need to use hair dryer. I will definitely spray some TRESemme Heat Defense (8) before I blow dry.

Last but not least, Don't over styling and Do have your hair trimmed regularly to keep the hair looking healthy.

Hope it is helpful! Please leave me a comment and let me know what your favourite hair products are. Or if you have any good tips to keep hair shinning and fabulous, do let me know too!

Fashion Spot On! The Hottest Day of This Summer

Mr. P and I went out and about looking for fashionistas! We had such a great time and met some really gorgeous girls. We will definitely do this again!

Next time, if you see a pair, carrying a camera and wanting to take pictures of you. Don't be shy. Say Cheese!

Wen xx

Abi

The very Stylish Abi is wearing a vintage skirt, accessorized with a Kate Spade Handbag! The whole outfit is just stunning. I love the geometric print skirt, combined with her silvery metallic very futuristic sandals. It is just perfect for a hot summer day!She is a hair stylist and you can find her at Julian Cutter

Similar skirt (River Island), Similar Sandals (Topshop

Cristina

Cristina is wearing a cute stripe dress.
Her h
andbag is from Karen Millen, RayBan Sunglasses, and New Look Sandals.

Every girl needs a stripe dress. I am obsessed with stripes (another obsession of my is polka dots). Stripe dress is so versatile. It can be casual, can be formal, can be sexy, can be cute! Here are some of the stripe dresses I choose from my wish-list:

vintage I.MAGNIN chevron dress

America Appeal Strip Tie Back Dress

ASOS Denim pinafore dress in stripe

Love Stripe Dress

Martha

Tartan is so back in trend this season. Martha is wearing a tartan skirt that she made herself last night. Her little cute backpack is from Lazy Oaf. I am so impressed with her outfit. It is very edgy but also very sweet. Who would've thought to wear Dr. Martin boots and little colourful kiddie backpack together. Martha would!
You can shop her look at her own Hand-made designs at Marthas Minis

Love you all, girls! xx

PS. Special Thanks to my lovely friend Bagel. She was so kind. She agreed to be my very first Fashion Spot On model, when I didn't even have the camera with me. I used my crappy little phone, and the photo just didn't do her justice. Bagel, we will do the shoot again, properly!

Natural Looking Peach Blushers and Tips

Natural Looking Peach Blushers and Tips

Peach is probably my favourite blusher colour. With glitters or not, it just looks so natural and gives you a beautiful complexion. (I also love pink blushers, I think I will do another post about my favourite pink blushers too!) Here are three of my top choices.

1. Bourjois Lilas d'Or (33)

It looks dark on the swatch, but it looks so subtle on the cheek. It is slightly more orangy than the other two blushers I have so it instantly gives a healthy tan when I use it.

2. Sleek Rose Gold (926)

I heard so many good things about sleek's blushers and it is true. Rose Gold has just the right amount of sparkles that brightens the whole face. I really love this!

3. Shu Uemura Medium Peach (560)

This is my first high end blusher I've ever bought and I keep coming back to repurchase it. It has such a big range of colours to choose from. This one I have is a matte finish, no sparkles, no glitters. Great for a natural everyday look. The best thing I love about Shu Uemera's blusher is that it is super pigmented. You only need a little and it goes long way!

Tips for a natural looking blush ...

after putting the blusher on the cheek, lightly dust the blusher onto the tip of your nose, and gently brush over your forehead, as well.

In other words, put the blusher on where the sun hits you. Trust me, it won't look odd. On the contrary, it will make you look healthy, glowing, like a little girl being shy and blushed! Cute!!

PS The blusher I used in the photo is Sleek Rose Gold

Selfie Session: Post-Monday-Blue

Selfie Session: Post-Monday-Blue

I am thinking to have this 'Selfie Session' as a routine. I like it. I like the whole process of snapping, editing, and creating.

In this shoot I want to create an intimate atmosphere. I choose black and white to sort of compliment the white shirt (that's Mr. P. hand me down white shirt) and you probably can't see it but underneath I am wearing one of my favourite lingerie Fleur of England (I am such a big fan of sexy lingerie. They just make me feel like a princess).
