How to Style: Jumper

One evening, the stylish Rebellious Rebel and I were chatting over the twitter, and she came up with this brilliant idea of collaborating a Fashion// How to Style blog post!

I immediately loved this idea and accepted the challenge! In this post, the challenge is How to style a Sweater/Jumper. I choose a transparent lacy skirt to go contrasting with a heavy woolly jumper! Hope you like the look!

Please also check out Rebellious Rebel's blog to see her How to Style blog post!

How will you style your jumper? Tweet me your photos @wentalkstoshoes #HowToStyle or post it on my Facebook! Ta!

Fashion// Autumn and Leopards

Is there a better season other than autumn for leopard prints? I love the leopard prints and I usually choose something fairly simply to go with them, so the prints can really stand out!

What about you? Do you have any unspoken love affair with leopard prints too? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Make My Pores Disappear Please!

Pores Pores PORES! They are so annoying, aren't they?! This has been THE task for me to tackle for years. These couple of weeks I have been trying out some new products and tips. I really like them and I will love to share with you.

I deal with the pores issue in two ways: Skincare and Make-ups. I am not sure if the skincare really do the job to tighten the pores (I can only tell with my naked eyes); however, I find that after using these pore treatment skincare products, my pores do seem to be bearable. I no longer shout in front of mirror with horror at my pores every morning now!

Skincare

I thoroughly cleanse and gently exfoliate (once or twice a week) and I use pores refining products targeting the pores area. As for the rest of the face I use my usual skin care products because I have oilly to dry combination skin. If I use the pore refining products all over my face, it would be too drying for me.

1. Cleanse and Exfoliate: Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser
2. Toner: Botanics Cleansig Toner All Bright
3. Treatment: La Roche-Posay Effaclar K

Make-up

Make-up can really work as wonder when you know how.
I have some tips of how to make the pores disappear with make-up that you must try! Very simple tricks and will save you loads of time! So here we go!

To make the pores disappear is easy. Instead of using your fingers or flat foundation brush , use a round/buffing brush to apply the foundation! And when applying foundation, don't go stripes or up and down motions. Go circling motion around the pores. This will really help to cover the pores!

and of course a little primer and good quality setting powders come really handy too if you want to keep the flawless look!

4. Primer: The Body Shop Skin Primer Matte It
5. Round buffing brush: Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
6. Powder: Chanel Healthy Glow Les Beiges

I will show you the difference in the photo below. On the right hand side (of the photo) I am using the circling and buffing motion to apply the foundation, prepped with primer and set it with powder. On the left, I only apply the foundation using my fingers. For the purpose of showing you the difference, I zoom in and change the colour to black and white. (Gosh, why am I showing you all my pores!!!)

Hope you find it helpful! Please leave me a comment or tweet me @wentalkstoshoes to tell me what your secret is to a flawless skin!

Fashion// In an arcade...

It has been ages since I went to an arcade game hall. I remembered when I was a teenager I spent so many weekends hanging around with friends in a place like this.

I choose an arcade hall to have my photos taken, because it always gives me a sense of being naughty.. a little dangerous, risky, lots of fun, and lots of chasing (boys and girls, relationship kind of chasing. Not actual running around!) I hope you like this series of photos and please leave me some comments below or tweet me @wentalkstoshoes and tell me what you think!

Beauty// Tag: Skincare

I was tagged by the sweetest Chloe from Clo's Beauty Spot to do a skincare post. I love reading her blog. Chloe always has good tips and beautiful photos!

I am a little princess about skin care. I buy so many products and made quite many mistakes. After years and tears, here are some of my tips and a few of my favourite products I would like to share with you. Hope it is helpful. If you have any good tips or questions. Leave me a comment or tweet me @wentalkstoshoes

So here we go!

Describe your skincare routine in 5 words:
Exfoliate, Cleanse, Moisture, SPF, (Drink) Water

What’s your skin type?
I am extreme-combination. If that is a type! I have fairly oily cheeks and chin, but the rest of my face is extremely dry.

Top Blemish Zapper
I am lucky. Rarely get spots. But when I do. They are huge and leave a dark pigmentation for months. My top tip is to thoroughly cleanse, exfoliate, and put some spot treatment. I use Neutrogena spot stress control. I find it very strong and effective, so I
just use it on the blemish area.

Face Wipes, yay or nay?
Nay, I don't normally use face wipes. Unless I am travelling or on the go. Otherwise I stick to cleansing lotion and cream.

Toner, yay or nay?
Yay, I like toner. I find it gives an extra cleanse and at the same time moisturize the skin.

High-end skincare or high-end makeup?
I have both. But if I really have to choose one, I would go for High-end makeup. I am just loving all those beautiful packaging, as if I were collecting gems.

What’s the most unusual skincare product you've tried?
Yogurt facial! Perhaps it is not that unusual. I would like to think I am very brave in terms of trying new skin products but I don't think I have tried anything that unusual or horrible yet.
Has anyone tried the yogurt facial, too?

Tell us your top skincare tip
My tip is: less is definitely more. Don't pile on tons of skin care products. That would only make your skin worse and difficult to put make up on. Really understand your skin's problems and find the best suited product for yourself.

Here are some of my all-time favourite skincare products and new discovery. I  recently fall in love with products that can do double-duty! I know some of them are quite pricey. But think, if you only need to get one product that does all the job.. it is money well-spent!

 1. Caudalie Beauty Elixir

This is great as a toner and setting the make-up. I put it in my make-up bag and carry it with me. It is a spray, so it is great to use when your skin needs some extra moisture and you don't want to ruin your make up. By the way, it smells wonderful!

2. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair

This is my favourite night product at the moment. I use it all over my face, even around my eye area. I would apply a little lotion around my dry area as well. But most times I just use this serum alone. I really love this serum, it really makes my skin look better. No wonder it is Estee Lauder's best seller for decades.

3. Murad Essential-C Day Moisture SPF30

If you have read my blog about The Sale Must Go On! You will know how much I love this product. It is moisture and SPF all together. I bought this as the birthday present for Mr. P's Mother, she loved it too!

4. Garnier Caffeine 2-in-1 Tinted Eye Roller

Yup, from the name, you know I will buy this product. Skincare, concealing, anti-puffyness, all in one go! It doesn't give a great coverage though. So I will suggest you to put it in your handbag and re-apply every once a while. What I love about this is the metal applicator. It really can massage the skin underneath your eyes without too much rubbing and tearing.

Last but not least! Two little treats that can make your skin look pretty...

Almond and dark chocolate. But be careful girls, it has to be whole nut and not crushed almonds. As for dark chocolate, it has to be over 70% and you only need 1-2 squares a day. Don't eat too much, otherwise it will make you fat!
